Steven A. Leshnower has more than 25 years of experience representing clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law. Since his admission to the New York State Bar in 2001, he has devoted his practice exclusively to family law, guiding clients through complex financial, custody, and support matters with a strategic and thoughtful approach.

Steven has negotiated favorable settlements and litigated sophisticated disputes in both New York State Supreme Court and Family Court, and he has argued appeals involving nuanced legal issues. Prior to joining Salzano Ettinger & Lampert LLP, he served as Senior Counsel at a nationally recognized prominent Manhattan boutique family law firm.

In addition to his litigation experience, Steven is a respected legal writer. He has contributed to matrimonial law columns published in the New York Law Journal, and a decision in a case he handled, addressing novel child support issues, was prominently featured on the publication’s front page.

Steven is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, where he was awarded First Prize in the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ Nathan Burkan Memorial Writing Competition. He received his undergraduate degree, with honors, in jazz performance from New York University.
